School Closure and Key Worker Provision - January 2021
With effect from Wednesday 6th January 2021, pupils (except for key workers and others who meet the vulnerable criteria) are asked to remain at home and commence remote learning (via the website and Teams) with immediate effect.
School closure and Key Worker Provision
Happy New Year!
I am so sorry that my first letter of 2021 is to explain the new measures imposed upon us by the Government last night.
Remote Learning
The teachers and support staff will have been in contact with you to share logins and other information required to allow yourselves and pupils to access the online materials.
I would like to remind you that the Government has set out in law, an expectation of 3 hours per day of remote learning for Primary pupils. All of the necessary resources and instructions will be available online and we will be keeping in very regular contact and supporting with any issues that may arise.
We are currently awaiting further information from the Trust and Government regarding vouchers/food boxes for pupils who are eligible for free school meals and not attending school. We will contact you as soon as we have details.
Key Worker and Vulnerable Pupil Provision
For those pupils who have been allocated a place in the provision, we are aiming to keep things as normal as possible.
- Breakfast Club will operate as normal
- The usual allocated entrances and start/finishes times will be the same
- Pupils will be expected to wear full school uniform (PE kit of allocated PE days)
- Pupils may bring packed lunches or order a packed lunch via Kingswood Catering
- Pupils may bring a water bottle
- Pupils should bring minimal other items to school (reading books and a pencil case if they wish)
Finally, I’m sure you will join me in thanking all of the academy staff for their dedication and hard work in making this transition as smooth as possible and putting the needs of the children before their own.
I thank you for your patience and continued support at this challenging time.
Best wishes,
Mrs Chrissie Barrington
Executive Principal
